AVATAR was a Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) funded project that was implemented by the North Texas Regional P-16 Council and the University of North Texas.
The North Texas Regional P-16 Council annually gathered student acheivement data from Texas K-12 and postsecondary education to compare where students’ achievements were to where education and business leaders would like tthem to be from 2003-2016. By having the data, Council members were empowered to investigate why gaps existed and establish goals and action plans to close the gaps.
